1. Introduction.
The Twitter (X) Sweepstakes app lets you run a sweepstake among users who retweet one or more of your posts. You can require any of these actions, or all of them.
Keep in mind that:
Retweet sweepstakes can only be run on tweets less than 7 days old. X does not provide information on retweets of older tweets.
The Twitter (X) Sweepstakes app performs a random selection among all retweets to run the sweepstake.
To avoid losing entry data, you should create the sweepstake in Cool Tabs immediately after publishing it on your X account.
2. Step by step.
2.1. Publish the sweepstakes on X.
Before using the Twitter (X) Sweepstakes app, you must post the tweet on your X account.
As mentioned above, it's important to create the sweepstake right after publishing the tweet.
2.2. Create the sweepstakes in Cool Tabs.
1) Log in to your Cool Tabs account. If you're not registered yet, check the tutorial: How to create a Cool Tabs account.
2) Create a new campaign by clicking the 'New campaign' button, or 'Create campaign' in the left-hand menu.
3) Select the Twitter (X) Sweepstakes app.
4) Select the X user the sweepstake will run on. If you don't have any X users linked to your Cool Tabs account yet, you'll need to log in with X to link one.
5) Fill in the sweepstake details.
Campaign name: an internal name to identify your sweepstake (it won't be public). This is what will appear in your campaign list.
Draw time zone.
Start and end date during which the app will collect entries.
Select the tweet(s) the sweepstake will be based on. By default, your last 200 posts will be shown.
Keep in mind that only tweets less than 7 days old will appear, as X does not provide information on retweets of older tweets.
6) Click the 'Save' button.
Your sweepstake will be registered in your Cool Tabs account, entries will be collected, and you'll be able to select winners once the entry period ends.

2.2.1. Add more posts to the sweepstakes.
The Twitter (X) Sweepstakes app also lets you edit your sweepstake to include new posts. This is very useful if you post a reminder about the contest on X — this way, all retweets on the new posts will be collected too.
To add new posts, edit the campaign by clicking the edit icon. Then click 'Add more tweets' and select the tweet(s) you want to add. Save your changes.
Keep in mind that you should create the sweepstake right after publishing your tweet, and add any new posts right after publishing them, to make sure all entries are collected. Remember that retweet sweepstakes can only be run on tweets less than 7 days old, as X does not provide information on older posts.
2.3. Select winners.
To select winners, you need an active paid plan on the platform.
To start the winner selection process, click the 'Winners' section. You can access it from your campaign list by clicking the trophy icon.
Once inside the 'Winners' section, you'll find the following filters:
Exclude winners from previous competitions. Check this option if you don't want users who already won another campaign to win again.
Exclude users from the blacklist by email or username. With our 'Blacklist' feature, you can block certain users from winning.
Once you've filled in the filters that apply to your sweepstake, click 'Step 1: Filter'.
Finally, enter the number of winners and alternates, then click 'Step 2: Launch sweepstake'.
2.4. Winners page and certificate of validity.
Once you've chosen the winner(s), you'll get a link to a public winners page so you can publish it and share the result. Copy and paste the link.
The winners page includes a certificate of validity, confirming that the process was carried out randomly and transparently.
Make sure to set the winners page to public mode so participants can view it (see image below).
2.5. Winners video.
After selecting winners, you can also generate a video showing the results of your sweepstake.
This video can be published via URL or downloaded to post in a tweet.

2.6. How to contact the winners.
Contacting the winners of your X sweepstake is very simple. Once you've selected the winners, you'll find their username in the 'Winners' section.
Clicking the X icon next to it will take you directly to their profile, where you can send them a private message.
3. Other specifications.
You can only run sweepstakes on public profiles.
You can't run sweepstakes among followers.
When selecting winners, it's not possible to filter by whether the user follows the account.
The Twitter (X) Sweepstakes app performs a random selection among all retweets to run the sweepstake.
Retweets must be no more than 7 days old. Retweets older than 7 days won't be included in the selection.
The Twitter (X) Sweepstakes app is only available on paid plans.
There's a limit of 4 sweepstakes per month per Cool Tabs account.
