1. Introduction.

Cool Tabs applications allow you to select winners and alternates, manually or randomly, both among the participants of sweepstakes or campaigns and among the voters.

In addition, you can apply filters to ensure that users who enter the sweepstakes meet the conditions of participation.

When the winners are selected, a URL to the winners' page is generated, together with a certificate of validity, which proves that the process has been carried out in a 100% transparent way. It indicates the date and time of the drawing and the names of the winners.

2. Step by step.

2.1. How to select winners.

1. From the main campaign list, click on the "Leads" section for the relevant campaign or sweepstake.

2. In the left sidebar, select "Winners."

Next, choose between two methods for selecting winners: manually or randomly. If your campaign includes voting, a third option will appear: "Random draw among voters."

2.1.1. Manual selection.

Available for Cool Promo and Cool Promo White Label campaigns (Gold and Diamond plans), this option allows for manual winner selection. It’s ideal for sweepstakes with creativity-based or originality criteria, or those that require a notary’s presence.

The manual selection allows you to manually include the winner's email address and generate the winners page, with the certificate of validity.

To select winners manually, enter the winners' and alternates’ emails, add a title for the winners page, and click "Save winners."

2.1.2. Random selection among participants.

There are two options for random selection:

• Randomly select from all participants (leave filter fields empty).
• Apply filters to ensure only participants who meet specific criteria are included, such as participation dates, referrals obtained, or scores on a related quiz.

2.2. How to filter by conditions.

You can filter participants by various criteria. The available filters vary depending on the type of sweepstake and social network used:

Participation dates

Specify the start and end dates for valid entries.

Top participants

Select winners from participants with the highest points, most referrals, or fastest responses.

Specific conditions

Filter by quiz answer categories, points obtained, referrals, etc. Please note that, depending on the type of campaign you have created (personality quiz, quiz for points, photo contest...), different filters will appear.

• Quiz result category: if you have created a quiz or a personality test based on categories, fill in this field with the category (A, B, C, D...) from which you want to choose the winner. Remember that you also have the option of choosing several groups of winners, and you will be able to repeat the selection with the participants who have obtained another category.
• The number of maximum and minimum points that the participants had to score.
• The number of referrals: establishes the number of referrals the users had to get to be winners.
• Add users with email: the above conditions must also be met. Manually include the email of the users you want to enter the sweepstakes to be winners.

Social network

You can also select winners by filtering according to the social networks with which users have registered to participate.

Other filters

• Exclude winners from previous campaigns
• Exclude participants with an IP address included in the list of previous winners IP addresses
• Exclude users from the blacklist by emails
• Exclude participants with an IP address included in your IP blacklist

After setting the filters:

1. Click "Step 1: Filter" to apply them.
2. Enter the number of winners and alternates you need, then click "Step 2: Launch sweepstake".

2.3. Random selection among all voters.

This option is available for Cool Promo and Cool Promo White Label campaigns, included in the Gold and Diamond plans, respectively.

It is used in campaigns where users had to vote, such as photo, video, or text contests. 

To select a winner among the voters of your campaign, indicate the number of winners and alternates you wish to obtain and then click on 'Launch sweepstake'.

2.4. Remove a winner from the list.

Once the selection has been completed, it is possible to remove a winner from the list (this option is only available starting with the Gold plan).

Click the (x) icon to the right of the winner's name. This will replace the removed winner with another participant or, if you have designated alternates when selecting the winner, with the first alternate.

Similarly, you can remove an alternate from the list.

2.5. Repeat the winner selection.

To repeat the selection process, delete the current winners by clicking "Delete winners and repeat selection."

2.6. Winners Page and Validity Certificate.

After completing the selection, a public URL with the results is generated, which includes the Cool Tabs validity certificate. That link is the one you must publish to make public who the winner is.

Make sure that the winners page is in public mode, otherwise, it will not be shown.

The winners page can be customized with a title and visual elements, which can be configured in the campaign’s "Content" tab under "Design."

On this page, a button displays the certificate code; clicking it opens a page where the certificate is shown. This document certifies that the sweepstake was conducted on Cool Tabs’ servers following the campaign administrator’s instructions and the contest’s terms and conditions. The certificate also lists all winners, alternates, and the date and time of the selection.
