At Cool Tabs, we've added two new fields to your campaign's participation form:
- Membership or loyalty card number
- Nickname or alias
This update is designed to enhance the customization and flexibility of your campaigns, allowing administrators to include these additional fields.
Below, we’ll explain how they work and how they can be used.
1. Membership or loyalty card number.
This field allows users to enter their loyalty card or membership number, making it easier to link the campaign with your brand’s or company’s loyalty systems.
Recommended use
This field is especially useful in customer loyalty campaigns, such as exclusive promotions or sweepstakes for members, purchase code validation campaigns, and more.
Advanced options
This information can be validated or autofilled via an API or based on predefined rules in the brand's loyalty systems.
It's available for clients requiring more advanced integrations.
2. Nickname or alias.
This field is designed for campaigns with public rankings or winner lists where users prefer not to display their full name. The nickname allows for more anonymous and flexible participation.
Recommended use
This field is perfect for campaigns that feature a public leaderboard or a winners list, helping participants avoid showing their real names.
Behavior with Social Login
If the user participates via social media (Facebook, Twitter, or TikTok), the field will automatically complete with the nickname from their social profile. However, the user can change it if they wish. If they modify their alias, in future entries, the form will display the new nickname, not the original one from the social network.
*IMPORTANT: At the moment, we cannot validate if nicknames are unique, meaning multiple participants can use the same alias.
Additional options
- Visibility in public lists: Soon, nicknames will be used in public participant or winner lists instead of real names.
- Winner page: We’ve added a new option that is enabled by default: "Display the alias/nickname instead of the first and last name on the winners page." This allows you to hide the real identity of the winners if the campaign admin prefers.
Other considerations
In campaigns where the option "Hide personal information we can retrieve from social media" is enabled, the nickname will still be displayed and can be modified by the user if needed, even if it was initially captured from social media.
How to enable these new fields
Just like the administrator can choose to request name and email in the participation form, she/he can now also select whether to include the "Membership or loyalty card number" and/or the "Nickname or alias."
To enable them, simply go to the form settings in the campaign and select these fields according to your needs.
We hope this new feature helps you optimize your campaigns. For more information, contact us at help@cool-tabs.com.
