How to use your Own Domain in your campaign

1. Introduction.

When you generate a Cool Tabs campaign, by default, it is hosted on a custom domain that we provide you (www.your-promos.com). However, in white-label campaigns, you have the possibility to display your campaign on your own domain.

The own domain allows you to host the campaign directly on a subdomain of your own (you can host one or several campaigns, since the own domain allows you to get a site with all your campaigns). This option allows you to have a custom look&feel, following your brand line, promo, etc.

Also, when sharing the campaign, the URL that will be displayed will reflect your subdomain, instead of the Cool Tabs domain, which will still appear when sharing the campaign from the content widget.

This advanced option is available for White Label campaigns, included in the Diamond Plan, and has an additional cost.

2. Step by step.

The procedure you need to follow to use your own domain for your campaign is as follows:

1. Choose the subdomain you want to use (e.g.: promo.yourbrand.com).

2. Contact us at help@cool-tabs.com, providing the subdomain you have chosen.

3. Once we receive the subdomain, we will provide you with the CNAME record it should point to (in the format xxxxx.dctw.io).

4. We will send you a validation URL so you can check the activation status of the domain.

5. Contact your technical team to manage the DNS with the details we provide.

3. Technical specifications.

Below are the technical requirements needed to host your campaign on your own domain:

• Someone on your team must have access to add/modify DNS records for the domain you want to use.

• Using a subdomain is mandatory. For example,  www.my-brand.com or promotions.my-brand.com. A root domain cannot be used. That is, you cannot use my-brand.com.

• A URL with a path, such as www.my-brand.com/promotions, cannot be used. However, your campaign can be embedded in a URL with that structure. In the following tutorial, we explain how to embed your campaign on a web page.

• The domain's technical administrator must create a CNAME record pointing to the value that Cool Tabs will provide once you tell us the subdomain you want to use. The result will be a record like this:

   

4. Other specifications.

This feature is only available for campaigns created with the Cool Promo White Label application, included in the Diamond Plan, and has an additional cost.
