2.2.1. How to send the survey through Cool Tabs.
2.2.2. How to send the survey through an external medium.
2.3. How to get the user's email.
1. Introduction.
When conducting customer surveys, it is interesting to be able to determine which users have not yet responded to your survey, so that you can send only those users an email reminding them that they can participate in the survey.
In this tutorial, we are going to explain how to set up an anonymous survey in which you get the users' email addresses without asking them to fill in a data form.
The Cool Promo and Cool Promos White Label applications, included in the Gold and Diamond plans, respectively, allow you to create this type of survey.
2. Step by step.
2.1. Create the campaign.
First, you must create your campaign and configure the basic setting. Is it your first time creating a campaign with Cool Tabs? In the following tutorial, we will show you how to configure the basic sections of a campaign, as well as other recommended settings, to ensure its proper functioning and maximize results.
How to get started on creating a campaign: basic settings.
If you have any questions during the process, you can contact us at help@cool-tabs.com.
Keep in mind that, in order to be an anonymous survey, you should not ask for any data in the form, nor activate any type of registration.
2.2. How to track an anonymous survey.
You must publish it with the unique URL that we provide when creating a campaign.
You will find this URL in the 'Publish' section.
How to access the unique URL of the campaign.
2.2.1. How to send the survey through Cool Tabs.
Once you have the URL of your survey, you simply have to add UTMs to it to track the traffic that the campaign will have.
IMPORTANT: to the utm_campaign you have to add the variable {{{email}}}. This way, if the user accesses the survey from the email sent from Cool Tabs, you will be able to get their email. Ex:
https://www.your-promos.com/pub/jDL6rdd?utm_campaign={{{email}}}&utm_medium=invitation
When you have the URL with the corresponding UTMs, you must send the email, including that link. In order to be able to track the user's email, the sending of the email must be done with our email-sending tool.
To configure the sending of the email, you can consult the following tutorials:
How to send emails to your campaign participants.
How to send emails to users alien your campaign.
In the email template that you configure, do not forget to include the text that you want to display next to the survey link, marked with UTMs.
Below, you can see an example.
You will only be able to obtain the user's email address if he/she opens the survey URL from the email you have sent him/her.
2.2.2. How to send the survey through an external medium.
You can also send the survey through an external medium (Gmail, Outlook, or any mailing tool).
In this case, instead of using the {{{email}}} variable, you must include the user's email in the utm_campaign of the campaign URL. This way, you will be able to track the user who has responded to the survey. E.g.:
https://www.your-promos.com/pub/jDL6rdd?utm_campaign=emaildelusuario@cool-tabs.com&utm_medium=invitacion
If you want to send the same email to several users, you can use any of the variables accepted by our mailing tool, and you will have to put them in the utm_campaign.
2.3. How to obtain the user's email address.
Once you have sent the email and the users start participating in the survey, you will be able to see the results in the list of participants. To do this, go to the 'Leads' section.
Within the list of participants, change the columns displayed to see the sections of the UTMs you have configured. Just click on 'Available columns' and display the 'Campaign' option. In the 'Campaign' column, you will see the emails of the users who have answered the survey.
