Sometimes, when we create an Instagram sweepstake (either from an organic post or a promoted post), the number of comments cool-tabs.com shows doesn't match the number we can see on the Instagram app. There are two probable causes:
- There is a promoted post associated with that post. If we have invested in an Instagram ad, the number of comments Instagram shows combines the comments made on the promoted post plus the ones made on the promoted post. For instance, if Instagram indicates that there are 100 comments in total, but Cool Tabs only shows 80, this means that the rest have been made in the promoted post. In this case, the best you can do is to use our "Multiplatform Sweepstakes" tool to choose the winner among the comments made in both posts.
- There are comments which are answers to the comments made in the post (sub-replies). The number of comments that Instagram shows reflects the total amount (comments + answers). The Instagram/Facebook API, though, doesn't allow to collect those answers (only at certain levels), so Cool Tabs doesn't reflect all the answers.
