error_type": "OAuthException" | Instagram connection error and how to fix it

Are you trying to log in to your Instagram account, and you get the following error message?

{"error_type": "OAuthException", "code": 400, "error_message": "Your activity off Meta technologies is currently turned off."}

This is one of the most common connection problems that users of the social network usually encounter. It happens because, at some point, the Facebook account settings related to the off-Facebook activity have been modified and prevent other platforms, such as Cool Tabs, from accessing the data needed to connect to your account.

This is an easy fix! You need to re-enable it, so we can do the integration with Meta. This way, you will be able to perform the login with Facebook/Instagram, to correctly participate in the contest, sweepstakes or promotion.

Step by step to check your off-Facebook activity:

1) Log in to your Facebook account: https://www.facebook.com/

2) Click on your profile.

3) Select Settings & Privacy > Settings.

4) In the left menu, click on Your Facebook information.

6) Finally, click on Activity outside of Facebook to review it. The "Connect future activity" option must be selected.
