To achieve this, when setting up a giveaway, contest, or other promotion, it is essential to determine the registration method for participants. This registration not only allows them to participate, but also helps you as the campaign administrator to identify users.
Below are the different registration options you can enable in a Cool Tabs campaign.
1. Registration via email.
The participant accesses the campaign by typing his/her email, not having to register with a social network, but by typing his/her email.
Advantages
- Accessibility: Users who do not want to link their social networks or do not have social profiles can still register. It also provides an entry point for those without social media accounts.
- Simplicity: It facilitates participation. It is easier for users to reach the participation form without abandoning the campaign, as there are no permission requests that could deter them.
How to activate it
To set up registration via email, you must activate the anonymous login option, i.e. without a social network, in the campaign editor.

1.1. Email verification.
Despite these advantages, email registration has its drawbacks. Although it makes it easier for any user to participate by filling in the form, it increases the use of fake emails.
Therefore, if you enable participation with anonymous login, we recommend that you configure email verification.
This feature forces the participant to access his/her email account to validate the email address provided during registration. Only once the email address is confirmed, the participant will be considered a campaign participant.

2. Social login.
Another login option widely used by brands in their lead generation campaigns is registration via social login, in which the participant accesses the campaign by registering with their credentials on social networks.

*Instagram Login
Currently, Instagram only allows login as a registration option in campaigns for professional accounts or content creators. This means that users must have a professional Instagram account to participate in campaigns using Instagram login.
If you are planning a photo or video contest on Instagram where users log in with Instagram to select a post from their profile, the option to avoid using Instagram login directly for campaign registration is still available.
In this case, the option to register with Instagram is not enabled. Instead, you can use the "Ask the participant to select one of their Instagram posts" option. Participants connect to their Instagram account through the participation form to select their post.

- Easy authentication: Use the integration to authenticate users and obtain their social data.
- Compatibility: This type of registration can be combined with email registration.
3. Email registration with code.
This option is a true email login, where users enter their email before completing the participation form. It is a more robust and secure system that uniquely identifies participants.
It is especially useful for:

Multi-participation campaigns.

Campaign groups.

Advanced features such as point accumulation or personalized rankings.
How it works
- The user clicks "Participate," and a modal window appears with the configured registration options. In this case, the email login option will be displayed.
- The user enters their email in a simplified form.
- A 6-character code is sent to the provided email, which the user must enter to continue.
- Once verified, the user can complete the participation form.
How to activate it
You need to enable the Email with Code option in the Registration section of the campaign editor.

This option can be combined with anonymous login. In this case, we recommend adjusting the design and text of the buttons to avoid confusion.
3.1. Differences from email registration (Anonymous Login).
Anonymous login is simpler but does not ensure the validity of the email.

4. Single Sign-On (SSO).
Most brands have user or member areas that require prior registration. Therefore, when generating interactive content campaigns on digital channels, more brands are opting to activate their own identification system via SSO or single sign-on.
SSO registration allows them to manage and control the identity of participating users and facilitates login with a single username and password.
This way, when a user accesses the campaign created by the brand, it ensures the participant is already one of their registered users and, therefore, authenticated.

- Identify registered participants: Ensures that only pre-authenticated users participate.
- Unify data: Integrates identity data with your IAM provider.
