1. Introduction.
The most common way to distribute prizes in a campaign is through a random drawing, where all participants have a chance to win at the end of the participation period. Sometimes, eligibility is based on pre-set conditions that participants must meet.
However, sometimes you may want to offer direct prizes, where every participant receives a guaranteed prize upon completing a specific action, such as filling out a survey, answering a quiz, or submitting a form.
With Cool Tabs, you can distribute the same prize to all participants or define different prizes based on certain conditions each participant meets.
In this tutorial, we’ll explain how to distribute guaranteed direct prizes to every participant.
2. Step by Step.
2.1. Create your campaign.
First, you need to create your campaign and set up the basic aspects. Is it your first time creating a campaign in Cool Tabs? In the following tutorial, we’ll show you how to configure the basic sections of a campaign, as well as other recommended settings to ensure smooth functioning and maximize results.

2.2. Configure the campaign prizes.
2.2.1. A single type of prize for all participants.
If you want to distribute the same prize to all participants, simply configure a single final screen that all users will see after participating, displaying a message such as "Congratulations! Here’s your prize".
You can also set up discount coupons on this screen if desired.
To configure this, go to: Campaign Editing > "Final Screen" section > Show text/image on the final screen.
You can find the full setup in the tutorial: How to configure final or results screens.
2.2.2. Different types of prizes.
Here, we differentiate between campaigns with and without Instant Win (winner moments).
A) Campaigns without Instant Win.
If you want to distribute different prizes based on specific conditions (for example, a certain quiz score or a code entered), you’ll need to set up different final screens customized for each prize type.
For example, you could offer different prizes based on quiz scores or a specific code entered in the form.
To set up these prizes, go to: Campaign Editing > "Final Screen" section > Show personalized content based on score (points quiz and gamification), category (personality test), and/or code entered during participation.
You can find the full setup in the tutorial: How to configure final or results screens.
B) Instant Win campaigns.
In Instant Win campaigns, such as the Wheel of Fortune, Scratch & Win, or Jackpot, prizes are scheduled to be awarded at specific moments (exact date and time). If a participant doesn’t enter at the precise moment a prize is awarded, the prizes remain "in the queue" and are distributed as new participants join. This way, no prize goes unawarded.
Instant Win is perfect for campaigns where you want to distribute different types of direct prizes (e.g., T-shirts, balls, and scarves for a sports team) and when the quantities of these prizes are limited. For example:
- 10 prizes of Type A
- 50 prizes of Type B
- ∞ prizes of Type C. This prize is generally of lower economic value or serves as a consolation prize (such as a symbolic discount) and will be awarded to the remaining participants.
In this case, you’ll need to set up one Instant Win per limited prize type you want to give (in this example, Types A and B) and define the quantity of each (10 of Type A and 50 of Type B). Then, configure a generic final screen for other participants who will receive Prize C.
You also have the option of configuring specific coupons for users who don’t win an Instant Win (Prize C winners).
