3.4. Activate Random Final Page.
3.5. Create Thank You Pages Without a Prize.
3.6. Assign Each Page to a Section.
1. Introduction.
Generally, when setting up a Wheel in Cool Tabs, a default section is defined for users who do not win.
In this section, participants usually see a typical message such as: "Sorry, you didn't win," "Better luck next time," or "No prize." It can even be a symbolic or consolation prize, such as a small discount.
This setup works for most promotions, but there may be situations where you want to configure a wheel with multiple non-winning sections, each with different messages, displayed randomly.
As explained below, the solution is based on combining:
Instant Win
Random Final Pages
Multiple Thank You Pages Without Prize, each linked to a different section of the wheel
2. Use Cases.
This setup is especially useful in the following scenarios:
Fairs and in-person events: When participants play in front of others, watching the wheel spin. If it always lands on the same non-winning section, it may create distrust. Using multiple random non-winning sections makes the experience more believable.
High-turnover stands: In actions where many people play in succession (e.g., at a booth), it avoids the feeling of the same negative outcome repeating constantly.
Promotions with limited prizes: When there are few prizes available and most users do not win, this setup allows distributing different "no prize" messages without making the experience monotonous.
Promotions with symbolic or consolation prizes: This wheel setup differentiates real prizes (managed with Instant Win) from varied consolation messages ("Come back tomorrow," "Try again," "Thanks for participating").
Gamification and branded experiences: Ideal for actions where the brand wants to reinforce a fun and natural game experience beyond the simple win/lose outcome.
3. Step by Step.

3.2. Create the Wheel.
Next:
Go to the Gamifications section.
Select the Wheel mechanic.
To see detailed instructions on configuring the wheel (design, sections, and texts), consult the tutorial:
Once the wheel is created, continue with the following steps to set up random non-winning sections.
When configuring the wheel sections, you should add:
Winning sections (e.g., Prize A, Prize B)
Non-winning sections (for different "no prize" messages)
Keep in mind that even though the tool requires setting a default section, it will not be decisive when configuring random final pages.
3.3. Configure Instant Wins.
Before creating Instant Wins (prizes distributed instantly), make sure the wheel sections are defined, as each prize must be assigned to a specific section.
Go to the Instant Wins section.
Activate the Automatic Winner Selection option.
Click Manage Individual Instant Wins and assign prizes to the corresponding sections.
For more details, consult the tutorial:
3.4. Activate Random Final Page.
Go to the Final Screen section and enable the following options:
Show personalized content based on score (for quizzes and gamifications), category (personality tests), and/or code entered during participation.
Assign the final page randomly among the available ones
This ensures that:
Winners see the corresponding prize page.
Non-winners see a random final page.
3.5. Create Thank You Pages Without a Prize.
From the Final Page section, access Manage Individual Final Screens.
-
Create multiple Thank You pages with different "no prize" messages, for example:
"No prize"
"Oh, bad luck"
"Try again"
-
For each page:
Check: Include in the final pages displayed randomly.
Customize the message and design
3.6. Assign Each Page to a Section.
This is the key step. For each Thank You page without a prize, select a different wheel section to link it to.
In this way:
Each non-winning page corresponds to a specific section.
When a random final page is shown, the wheel stops on a different section each time. The wheel does not always land on the same section, simulating a completely random behavior.
