2.2.3. Personality test based on the entered code.
1. Introduction.
Cool Tab allows you to create a personality quiz, customized to your needs, to entertain your audience and learn more about their personality, tastes, and preferences.
The Cool Promo and Cool Promo White Label applications, included in the Gold and Diamond plans of the platform, respectively, are the ones that will allow you to configure this type of quiz.
You will be able to customize the results screens according to the majority of marked answers, in order to offer participants an individualized experience.
2. Step by step.
Before explaining how to configure your personality test, you should know that you have three options to configure it: by points, by categories, or by code entered.
Below, we explain the settings common to any type of personality test. And, further on, you will find the customization for each type, depending on whether you want to configure it by points, by categories, or by code entered.
2.1. Create the campaign.
First, you must create your campaign and configure the basic setting. Is it your first time creating a campaign with Cool Tabs? In the following tutorial, we will show you how to configure the basic sections of a campaign, as well as other recommended settings, to ensure its proper functioning and maximize results.

2.2. Configure the test.
Before going on to explain how to set up your personality test, you should know that you have three options to set it up: by points, by categories, or by code entered.
2.2.1. Personality test by categories.
This first option is the most common when creating a personality test. It is designed to display final screens, according to a majority of answers (categories A, B, C, D…).
To configure it, you have to associate each final screen with a category. Once the final screens have been defined, the questions/answers are configured and each of them is linked to a category. In this way, the participant obtains one final screen or another according to the highest number of marked answers in a category.
1) Configure the questions and answers
Go to the 'Quiz' section of the campaign editor, to add the quiz questions and answers, and check the 'I want to create a personality quiz' option.
Add and customize the quiz questions. Type the question in the corresponding field. If you wish, you can add a description.
In the 'Answers' tab, configure the answer options. Select the option 'Single answer multiple choice'. You must write the answer options and associate them to a category (A, B, C…) in 'Type of answer'. The type of answer is linked to the personalized message that will be shown to the participant and that you will be able to customize below.
2) Configure the final screens.
Go to the 'Final screen' section of the campaign editor and check the option 'Display a customized final screen depending on gamifications, quiz results (point or personality tests) or validated coupon' and then click on 'Individual final screens management'.
Add as many final screens as there are categories in your quiz.
Configure each result screen with the message that will be shown to the participants. Give it a name so that you can identify it internally. Don't forget to assign a category to the final screen.
Include the message that the participant will see on the final screen. In this section, you can include text, images, or HTML.
You can also include and customize the title and the message that will appear when the participant shares the result on social networks.
If you have any doubts, please refer to the tutorial How to configure the final screens.
2.2.2. Personality test by points.
This option allows you to display the final screens according to the score obtained with each answer. You can opt for this configuration when you want the result to be more concrete and not based on “a majority of answers”.
In this case, you will have to set up N final screens according to the points obtained and assign the points to each answer.
1) Configure the questions and answers.
Go to the 'Quiz' section of the campaign editor, to add the questions and answers of the quiz, and check the option 'Quiz with points for right answers'.
Add and customize the quiz questions. Write the question in the corresponding field. If you wish, you can add a description.
In the 'Answers' tab, you will have to configure the answer options. Select the 'Single-answer multiple choice' option. You must type the answer options and assign them a score.
2.4.2. Configure the final screens.
1) Go to the 'Final screen' section of the campaign editor and check the option 'Display a customized final screen depending on gamifications, quiz results (point or personality tests) or validated coupon' and then click on 'Individual final screens management'.
2) Add the final screens.
3) You must set a minimum score and a maximum score that the participants must obtain in order to be shown a particular screen. These scores have to be a sum of the total points that you are going to define in the answers. For example:
Question 1:
- Answer A > 1 point
- Answer B > 2 points
- Answer C > 3 points
Question 2:
- Answer A > 10 points
- Answer B > 20 points
- Answer C > 30 points
The final screens would be:
- 11 points > Final Screen 1 (answer 1A and 2A)
- 12 points > Final Screen 2 (answer 1B and 2A)
- ...
- 22 points > Final Screen 5 (answer 1B and 2B)
- ....
- 33 points > Final screen (answer 1C and 2C)
And so on, depending on the number of questions/answers, you are going to set up.
Configure each result screen with the message that will be displayed to the participants. You can also include the title and the message that will appear when the participant shares his/her result on social networks.
2.2.3. Personality test by code entered.
With this option, the participant will only have to enter a code to be validated so that one or the other final screen will appear.
1) Add the codes to validate.
In the 'Validations' section of the campaign editor, activate the option 'Enable coupons or code validation'. You can upload them in Excel/CSV format.
If you have any doubts, you can consult the tutorial How to create a campaign to validate promotional codes.
2) Configure the final screens.
Finally, go to the 'Final screen' section of the campaign editor and check the option 'Display a customized final screen depending on gamifications, quiz results (point or personality tests) or validated coupon' and then click on 'Individual final screens management'.
Add the final screens.
Configure each screen.
Having activated the code validation, when you configure each result screen, the field 'Codes the participants should enter to see this screen' will be displayed. Here you have to enter the code that the participants must enter in order to see this final screen.
Customize each result screen with the message that will be shown to the participants.
You can also include the title and the message that will appear when the participant shares their result on social networks.
2.3. Other settings.
2.3.1. Winner selection.
If your personality test is linked to sweepstakes, once the participation period has ended, you will be able to start the selection.
To select winners, you can consult the tutorial on How to select winners and obtain your Certificate of Validity.
3. Other specifications.
The Cool Promo and Cool Promo White Label applications, included in the Gold and Diamond plans of the platform, respectively, are the ones that will allow you to configure this type of quiz.
You can also create a personality quiz with the 7-day free trial, which allows you to test any of our plans.
