2.2. The administrator uploads the content.
2.3. Users upload the content.
1. Introduction.
Cool Tabs allows you to create a voting contest based on the ‘Pick your favorite’ concept. Participants have to pick their favorite option from various suggestions. You can run interactive voting based on battles and relate them to your products, brand, or sector. Publish the voting, so all users can see the ranking with the most popular votes.
The 'Pick your favorite' mechanics admits two possibilities:
1) The campaign administrator uploads the content that will be voted by the users, as a poll. This option does not require users to fill in any registration form to participate, but you can enable it. Users just need to vote for the contribution they want.
2) Participants upload the content (and fill in a data form), so that the rest of the users can vote for their favorite, during the period of time that the campaign administrator enables. There are two types of users: participants and voters.
The Cool Promo and Cool Promo White Label applications, included in the Gold and Diamond plans of the platform, respectively, are the ones that will allow you to configure this type of voting.
You can also create a 'Pick your favorite' campaign with the 7-day free trial, which allows you to test any of our plans.

2. Step by step.
The configuration of a voting contest will depend on the type of campaign you want to create: the administrator uploads the content to be voted, or the participants upload the content, and a voting period is opened. For either option, you must first create a campaign with our Cool Promo or Cool Promo White Label applications.
2.1. Create your campaign.
1) Log in to your Cool Tabs account. If you are not registered yet, you can check the tutorial: How to create an account on Cool Tabs.
2) Create a new campaign by clicking on the 'Create campaign' button. If you are using the platform for the first time, you will directly see the app catalog.
3) Select Cool Promo or Cool Promo White Label, depending on whether you have a Gold or Diamond plan, respectively. Click on the 'Start' button.
2.2. The administrator uploads the content.
2.2.1. Survey type 'Pick your favorite'.
In this first option, the participant chooses among several options, configured beforehand by the administrator, through a quiz.
1) Configure the basic aspects of the campaign
Complete the first sections of your campaign. These are related to:
- Register how you want the participant to access the campaign, via social network or anonymously.
- Basic data: these are fields related to name, languages…
- Design
- Start and end dates when the campaign will be visible and the dates of participation.
Please note that some sections of the campaign edition do not necessarily apply to your campaign (instant wins, viral ranking, coupons…).
If you have any doubts or questions during the process, do not hesitate to contact us at help@cool-tabs.com
You can also help yourself in the following tutorials, in which we explain in more detail what you can include in each section:
2) Create a quiz
Go to the 'Quiz' section of the campaign editor and check the option 'I don't want to assign points or categories to the answers'.
You can add a question as a statement about the voting.
In the 'Answers' tab, set as many answers as participants have options to choose from. Select the 'Single answer multiple choice' option and add the answer options. You can add an image or a video to each answer option.
3) Show a summary of the answers
You have the possibility to show a summary of answers on the page after participating. This way, after participating, the user will be able to see how the voting results are going.
To enable the summary of answers, in the 'Quiz' section, click on the 'Entries page' tab and check the 'When participants submit their answers, they will see a summary of the answers of all participants' checkbox.
In the question settings, in the 'Advanced' tab, don't forget to check the options 'Answers to this question will be public (visible to everyone)' and 'Display this question in the summary page of answers given by participants'.
Below, you can see an example of a summary of answers, which is shown to the participant on the final screen.
4) Configure the registration form
If you want to enable an entry form to collect data from the participants, go to the 'Form' section and enable the fields you want the participant to fill in to complete his/her participation. If you do not want to include it, leave the options unchecked.
5) Customize the final screen
Customize the message that the participant will see after voting. To configure the page after participating, go to the 'Final screen' section.
You can also consult the tutorial How to configure the final or results screens.
2.2.2. Voting contest (without participation form).
In this second option, the administrator uploads the content to be voted by the users as if he/she were the participant. In addition, a public gallery is enabled with voting options, and a voting period is opened.
To vote, users do not have to complete any form.
Note that the start and end of participation dates will allow you, as the administrator, to upload the content. When you configure the voting dates, the participation dates must be already closed, so that they do not coincide with these dates, and the users only have the option to vote and not to participate.
Some sections of the campaign edition do not necessarily apply to your campaign (instant wins, viral ranking, coupons…).
If you have any doubts or questions during the process, do not hesitate to contact us at help@cool-tabs.com
You can also help yourself in the following tutorials, in which we explain in more detail what you can include in each section:

In addition, you can set limitations and other filters for voting.
5) Customize the final screen

In this option, a participation period will be opened, so that the participants can upload their content, and a voting period, so that the rest of the users can vote for the content that the participants have uploaded.

- Limit the number of times a user can vote in the whole campaign: just below, you will see a box where you must indicate the total number of times a user can vote in the whole campaign. By default, a user can vote once per each different entry.
- Show publicly who are the voters of each entry in the contest (their avatar and name will appear): if this option is activated, the page of each entry (not the list of entries) will show all the users who have voted for that particular entry. Only the avatar and their Facebook name will be shown. This provides an overall ranking of the votes, allowing voters to see how their favorite participant is doing.
- Apply the anti-fraud system to voters: you can restrict voting to certain countries, block voters from possible exchange networks, block fraudulent votes, and those votes that come from the same IP for the time you specify.
4) Configure the registration form

6) Customize the final screen

2.4. Other settings.
2.4.1. Legal conditions.
You can include the legal terms of your campaign, as well as add additional checkboxes that you need for the processing of participants' personal data for different purposes. For example, the creation of social profiles, the subscription to a newsletter, the acceptance of sending commercial information…
2.4.2. Go viral.
Encourage the viralization of your campaign by allowing participants to share the campaign and their participation on social networks. In the 'Go viral' section, add the image, title, and text you want to appear when users share the campaign or their participation.
We recommend you customize the messages displayed on social networks after sharing. You can also refer to the tutorial How to customize messages shared on Facebook, Twitter, and other social networks.
3. Other specifications.
If your voting contest is linked to sweepstakes. Once the participation period has ended, you will be able to make the selection by following the tutorial How to select winners and obtain your Certificate of Validity.
In voting contests, to avoid fraudulent practices by users, it is recommended that the selection of the winner is determined not among the one who gets the most votes, but by a random draw among the N participants who get the most votes.
