3.2. Set your quiz questions and answers.
1. Introduction.
With Cool Tabs, you can set up dynamic questionnaires and surveys, as well as "Choose your own adventure" style quizzes, in which the questions are conditioned by the users' answers. The logic jumps mechanic lets you set up branching to guide participants through the questionnaire: depending on the answer a user gives, they will be shown one question or another.
Enabling this feature lets you create a fully personalized experience. Questions adapt to each user's needs and interests, which makes it possible to gather much more detailed information from participants.
2. Ideas and examples.
Gift configurator or product recommender: depending on who the gift is for (man or woman), their age, and their tastes, you can show different questions to reach a highly personalized result.
Satisfaction surveys or questionnaires: based on the respondent's answers, new related questions appear, to gather more detailed information.
Game-style quizzes: to help participants discover the experience or trip that best suits them.
3. Step by step.
3.1. Create your campaign.
Before setting up logic jumps, create your campaign and define its basic settings. If it's your first time using Cool Tabs, this tutorial shows you how to configure the basic sections of a campaign and the settings we recommend for it to work properly:

3.2. Set your quiz questions and answers.
To enable and customize logic jumps, first set up your quiz questions and save your changes:
1) Go to the 'Quiz' section.
2) Choose the type of quiz you want to create. Logic jumps work with any of the 3 options:
I don't want to assign points or categories to the answers.
Quiz with points for right answers. I want to assign points for answering correctly.
I want to create a personality test, with answers classified into categories (A, B, C, D...).
3) Add and customize your quiz questions and answers. You can check these tutorials:
3.3. Set the branching.
Once your quiz is ready, go to the 'Logic Jumps' section of your campaign edition and enable it by checking the 'Enable logic jumps' box. Save the configuration, go back to the edition, and click 'Questions flow management'.
In questions flow management, you'll find the screen split in two:
On the left, the 'Logic jumps editing' panel, where you'll set up the crossroads (which question each user goes to, depending on the answer they choose).
On the right, the diagram, which helps you visualize all the paths in the quiz (you can zoom in and move the questions around).
To get started, click the first question you created in the diagram. This opens its path editing panel, where you'll see the question and, below it, in a different color, the answer type you chose. This is where you set the crossroads and conditions.
Depending on the answer type you configured, you'll see different conditions:
is equal to / is not equal to
is / is not
contains / does not contain
greater than / less than
before / after
If the user's answer meets the condition you set, they'll move on to the question selected in 'Then go to...'. If it doesn't, they'll be redirected to the question or content selected in 'In any other case, go to...'.
For example: if a participant is asked "What is the capital of Brazil?" and answers correctly with "Brasília", they'll move to the next question ("What is the capital of Bulgaria?"). If they answer "São Paulo", they'll see the final failure screen.
When setting up the crossroads, keep in mind that every question must be configured, and that each one must point to a final screen.
3.3.1. Answer types with conditions.
As mentioned above, depending on the answer type you configure, different options will appear to define the branches of your quiz.
A) Text answer: the participant writes the answer.
Since this is a text-based answer, the condition must specify whether the text the user writes is the same as, different from, starts or ends with a letter/number, or contains (or doesn't contain) certain characters.
Type the expected answer in the blank field to the right of the condition. You can set one or several conditions. If you add several, the option "Meets... all conditions or any condition" will appear: depending on what you choose, the user will move on to the question defined in "Then go to..." if they meet all or any of the conditions.
B) Single-choice answer.
With this answer type, you choose from several options you've previously defined. The available condition is "is / is not".
If it's the correct answer, set the next question in "Then go to...". For any other case, set it in "In any other case, go to...".
C) Multiple choice (the user can select one or several options).
This works similarly to the previous option. The dropdown includes the conditions contains / does not contain and is / is not.
In addition, next to each answer you've defined, you'll see a checkbox to mark which ones should count as valid to meet the condition.
D) Star rating between 1 and N.
This option offers a numeric answer type, where you define the range the user's answer must fall within to direct them down one path or another. Available conditions: less than, less than or equal to, greater than, greater than or equal to.
Set a condition and a number. For example, in the image below: if the participant's answer is less than 5, they'll be redirected to question 3.
E) Custom rating between 0 and N.
Setting conditions for this answer type works the same way as the previous one.
F) Dropdown answer (to choose from many options).
Define, in a dropdown, the options you've previously chosen. Here you decide whether the option the user selects (or doesn't) sends them down one path or another.
G) Dropdown answer with individual options.
Same as the previous option, but here each answer has been defined individually (for example, to assign points to each one).
H) The participant must choose a date.
You can set the path based on whether the date the participant chooses is earlier or later than the condition you've configured.
3.3.2. Question/answer types without conditions.
These question/answer types don't support conditions of their own.
Even so, you can still use the answer to another question as a condition for reaching them.
A) Question with no answer (the user only views content).
With this answer type, the participant can view any type of content (HTML, banner, image, video, etc.) without having to answer anything. It's useful when you want the user to see content related to the next question.
B) The participant must upload an image.
C) The participant must upload a video.
D) The participant must upload a file (PDF, Word, Excel).
E) Validate a code or coupon, based on the options you configure in the "Code Validation" section.
In these four options, the participant simply has to upload or validate the corresponding content. To build a "logic path" around them, you can add a prior question such as "Do you have a photo of your receipt? Yes/No" or "Do you have a discount code? Yes/No". If the answer is yes, set the next question to require that upload.
F) Matrix with multiple answer options and single choice*.
G) Matrix with multiple answer options and multiple choice*.
H) Matrix with text answers, where the participant types the answer*.
*None of the Matrix answer types support setting conditions.
3.4. Set the final screens.
From the 'Final screen' section, customize the individual final screens of your quiz.

4. Other specifications.
The logic jumps feature is available in the Diamond plan, but requires activation and an additional cost.
