3.2. Configure the Swipe functionality.
3.2.1. Personality quiz with Swipe.
3.2.2. Knowledge quiz with Swipe.
1. Introduction.
Cool Tabs allows you to set up a quiz or a survey with swipe response options (Tinder style), in which the participant has to swipe right or left to answer.
This functionality creates a dynamic action that enhances the user experience. The Swipe answer mode is a much faster and more intuitive way to participate in a quiz, especially from a mobile device.
2. Ideas and examples.
You can use the Swipe answer functionality in:
A quiz-type survey, in which no categories or points are assigned for correct answers.
A personality quiz, in which categories are assigned depending on the user's answers.
A knowledge quiz, in which points are given for correct answers.
3. Step by step.
How you set up the Swipe functionality depends on the type of quiz or survey you want to create. For any of the options, you must first create a campaign.
3.1. Create your campaign.
First, you must create your campaign and configure its basic settings. If it's your first time creating a campaign with Cool Tabs, in the following tutorial we show you how to configure the basic sections of a campaign, as well as other recommended settings, to ensure its proper functioning and maximize results:

3.2. Configure the Swipe functionality.
Once you have completed the basic settings, go to the 'Quiz' section.
Depending on the type of quiz or survey you want to set up, choose whether it's a point-based quiz, a personality quiz, or one with no points or categories assigned.
Then, add and configure the questions you're going to show in your test or survey. Below, we explain how to do this for a personality quiz and for a point-based quiz.
3.2.1. Personality quiz with Swipe.
1) Add and write the question the users will have to answer.
2) In the 'Answers' tab, select Answer type: Swipe.
3) Click 'Add image'. Upload the image for each of the answers participants will respond to, and assign one category or another, depending on whether the user swipes right or left. These categories should match the final screens you'll show participants, which you'll configure later.
You can also include a title for each image, which will be displayed just above it.
Add as many images as you want your quiz to have. Note that images will be displayed at their original proportion and resized to a maximum of 320 px high on mobile devices and 290 px on desktop, to fit the default layout. Images must also comply with the general formatting and weight rules set out in this tutorial.
You can configure and customize the colors and text of the swipe buttons by clicking the 'Swipe' tab.
By default, the buttons show a check symbol (✓) on the green button and an x symbol (x) on the red button. You can edit them to replace these symbols with emoticons — click 'Change' to open the emoji selector.
You can also choose whether the button should be transparent or not. If you select an emoji, the button will have no background color. In that case, it will look like this:

3.2.2. Knowledge quiz with Swipe.
1) Add and write the question the users will have to answer.
2) In the 'Answers' tab, select Answer type: Swipe.
3) Add an image and set the points you'll give the user for swiping right or left. You can add as many images as you want your Swipe quiz to have.
As with the personality quiz, you can include a title alongside the image, as well as customize the colors and text of the answer buttons.
You can also replace the swipe button symbols with emoticons by clicking 'Change' to open the emoji selector, or choose to make the button transparent.

3.3. Other settings.
3.3.1. Final screens.
To start customizing the final screen, go to the 'Final Screen' section of the campaign editor.
You can configure:
A default screen for all participants.
Customized screens based on the points obtained in the quiz.
To configure the final screens, see this tutorial: How to configure the 'Thank you' page or result screens.
3.3.2. Winner selection.
If your quiz is linked to a sweepstakes, once the participation period has ended you will be able to select the winners.
To start the selection process, see this tutorial: How to select winners and obtain your Certificate of Validity.
4. Other specifications.
The Gold and Diamond plans allow you to configure this type of quiz.
You can also create a Swipe Quiz with our 7-day free trial, which lets you test any of our plans.
You can also combine the Swipe functionality with a quiz with paths. This lets you ask a first question that acts as a filter to show the user one content path or another. For example, you could create a quiz about cinema and set up different categories participants can choose from: if they select Spanish films, they'll be shown a different Swipe quiz than if they choose international films.
Quizzes with paths can only be used from the Diamond plan onwards, and require a specific activation. If you're interested in adding the paths functionality to your Diamond plan, contact us at help@cool-tabs.com to get a quote.
