2.2. Configure the Instant Win.
2.3. Configure the final screen.
1. Introduction.
With Cool Tabs, you can create a Scratch & Win campaign to instantly award prizes. Participants fill out a form and scratch an image to find out if they've won.
This mechanic simulates the experience of scratching a virtual card to reveal whether the participant is a winner.
This type of campaign is also combined with the Instant Win feature, which lets you schedule prizes by date and time and randomly select winners instantly. Participants won't have to wait until a specific date or time to find out the result.
2. Step by step.
2.1. Create the campaign.
First, you need to create your campaign and configure its basic settings.
Is this your first time creating a campaign with Cool Tabs? The following tutorial shows you how to configure the basic sections of a campaign, along with other recommended settings, to ensure it works properly and to maximize results.

2.2. Configure the Instant Win.
The Scratch & Win campaign is based on the Instant Win mechanic. Next, you need to configure the winning moments (Instant Wins) used to distribute prizes.
Follow this tutorial: How to create an Instant Win campaign to give out instant prizes.
2.3. Configure the final screen.
Message for non-winners
In the "Final Screen" section, set up the default message shown to participants who don't win. This message will only be shown to users without a personalized final screen.
To display an image, go to the "Content" tab under the "Final Screen" section, check the "Show an image on the final screen" box, and upload your image.
To display text, enable "Show text on the final screen". This opens an editor where you can add text, images, GIFs, or HTML. The editor also supports images, so you can include one here in addition to the one in the specific upload field, if you'd like.
2.3.1. The scratch-off image.
Set up the image that participants will scratch to reveal whether they've won:
Go to the "Scratch & Win" tab, select "Hide final page below a scratch-off image", and upload the image.
Instructions for the participant
You can enable a header with instructions, such as "Scratch Here", to display above the scratchable image. If you don't include a header, add a similar message directly on the image itself to guide users.
This is what the image will look like after the data form is completed:
And this is what it looks like as the user starts to scratch:
Technical aspects of the scratchable image
Image coverage
The scratchable image covers all the content on the "Thank You" page and the individual Instant Wins. This includes text, images, or a combination of both.
If you've enabled the option to let participants share the campaign on social media, the "Share" button will also be covered by the scratchable image, increasing the total height that needs to be covered.
Uniform content height
For a consistent display, make sure all final screen content has a height similar to the scratchable image.
Recommended dimensions
The content on the "Post-Participation" page and Instant Wins has a maximum width of 810 px. The scratchable image must meet the following specifications:
Width: 810 px.
Height: the content's height, plus 145 px (102 px for the buttons and 43 px for the "Thank you for participating" message).
Example: if the content height is 400 px, the optimal image size is 810 × 545 px.
Fixed aspect ratio
The scratchable image maintains a fixed aspect ratio (width/height). If the image is smaller than the area it needs to cover, the uncovered spaces will appear in a solid color. This color matches the background color defined in the Design > Styles section of the campaign.
Device compatibility
Campaigns have different heights depending on the device (desktop, mobile, tablet).
It's unlikely that an image designed for desktop will perfectly fit a mobile screen, due to differences in aspect ratio and screen width.
Recommendation: use an image with a solid-color background. This lets uncovered spaces blend seamlessly with the campaign's background color.
