1. Introduction.
Surely you have seen many sweepstakes, contests, and promotions on Facebook in which it is established as a condition to participate, to be, or become a follower. However, this is an action that is not allowed. This is what Facebook states in its Facebook Developers' policies.
It follows that it is not correct to ask users to become followers. You can recommend that they follow you, but not set it as a condition.
Being an action that Facebook discourages, its API does not allow external apps to access and collect this information in an automated way. Therefore, we will not be able to know if the users of your campaign or contest are followers.
As an alternative to this requirement, in campaigns with a registration form that you create with Cool Tabs, you can activate and customize a pop-up to recommend participants and/or voters to follow your fan page.
2. Step by step.
2.1. How to include a pop-up to recommend your Facebook profile.
You can enable and customize this pop-up in the 'Go viral' section of the campaign editor. Check the option 'Suggest your participants like your Facebook page (or pages), Twitter, Instagram and/or Pinterest profiles' and include the URL of your fan page.
You can include one or multiple fan pages, as well as Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest profiles.
In addition, you can customize the header that will appear in the pop-up. The default is "Follow our updates at:".
2.2. Cool Promo Lite campaigns.
If you have created the campaign with the Cool Promo Lite application, you will only be able to recommend a single fan page to your participants, and you will not be able to configure the pop-up header, where a default text will appear.
In this case, the pop-up is enabled in the 'Dates and configurations of entries' section.
3. Other specifications.
This feature is available for campaigns created with Cool Promo, Cool Promo White Label, and Cool Promo Lite.
