2.2. Configure the Memory Cards.
1. Introduction.
Cool Tabs lets you create a Memory Cards game, where participants must flip the cards to find matching pairs before time runs out.
You can customize the game by uploading your own images for the cards and the background, and by assigning points for finding a pair or for finishing in the shortest time possible. These campaigns are also designed to capture leads, so they include a customizable personal information form.
A Memory Cards campaign is a great way to gamify your content on online channels like social media, and reward your audience through sweepstakes among participants, those who complete the game, or those who finish fastest and submit their data.
2. Step by Step.
2.1. Create your campaign.
First, create your campaign and configure the basic settings. Is this your first time creating a campaign with Cool Tabs? The tutorial below shows you how to configure the basic sections of a campaign, along with other recommended settings to ensure it works properly and maximize results.
How to get started creating a campaign: basic settings.

2.2. Configure the Memory Cards.
After completing the basic sections, go to the 'Gamifications' section, enable the Memory Cards option, and click 'Configure'.
2.2.1. Main configuration.
Here you'll set up the cards.
Back of the cards. You can upload one image to use for the back of all cards. If left blank, a default image will be used.
-
Add a pair of cards. Add as many pairs as you need.
Front of the card. The image shown once the card is flipped.
Back of the card (optional). The image shown while the card is hidden. Only needed if you want a different back for each individual card.
The recommended image size is 240 x 240px. If you upload a different size, it will be automatically resized to a maximum width/height of 240px.
2.2.2. Game conditions.
Set up the following fields related to scoring:
Duration. The time limit (in seconds) users have to play.
Points per pair. Points awarded for correctly matching a pair.
Points for completion. Points awarded for completing all pairs.
Points per second. Extra points awarded per second remaining when the game is completed.
Number of plays allowed per user. How many times a user can play. Each new attempt shuffles the cards randomly. When a game ends, a pop-up shows the points earned, the message "You have X more chances", and a "Play again" button. Once the play limit is reached, users can no longer replay — only continue.
2.2.3. Design.
Finally, set up the game's appearance.
Title. The header shown at the top of the game.
Description. Use this field to show additional content (text and/or image) to participants.
Once done, save your Memory Cards settings to continue setting up the rest of the campaign.
Below is an example of how the game screen looks to participants.
2.3. Other settings.
2.3.1. Ranking of participants.
In gamification campaigns where players score points, it's common to display a public list of participants, so everyone can see how they rank.
If you'd like to show a ranking of players with their points, enable the participants list.
To enable the public ranking, follow the steps in How to display a public entries list or ranking of participants.
2.3.2. Winner selection.
If your game is linked to a sweepstakes, you can select winners once the participation period ends.
You can choose winners randomly or by filtering by different conditions — for example, by points earned in the game.
The participants list shows each participant's data along with their total points.
To start the selection process, follow the tutorial How to select winners and obtain your Certificate of Validity.
3. Other specifications.
The Cool Promo and Cool Promo White Label apps, included in the Gold and Diamond plans respectively, allow you to set up a Memory Cards game.
You can also try it with the 7-day free trial, which lets you test any of our plans.
